Edward W. Scripps, a renowned journalist, founded Science Service in 1921 with the goal of keeping the public informed of scientific achievements. Although Scripps died around 1926, Watson Davis continued to lead the editorial staff of the Science News-Newssheet. That season, this elementary newssheet attracted plenty readers that the staff decided to reformat it to exist as a magazine. All over a next deuce decades, Science Service as well broadcast their news in Radio News of the Week. Within 1941, Science Service collaborated with a American Institute of the City of New York to create science clubs through a United States. A next month, Science Service & Westinghouse held the 1st Science Talent Research. Sustaining Ogdoad years of profits by using a talent seek, Science Service decided inside 1950 to boost a National Science Fair, which shortly became the International Science & Engineering Fair. Science News-Newssheet was renamed Science News within 1966. Each a Science Talent Lookup & a International Science & Engineering Fair received title sponsorship from either Intel in 1998. A Discovery Channel's Young Scientist Challenge began in 1999 as Science Service's newest innovation.
